Shot Types

ESTABLISHING SHOT (extreme long shot)- this shot establishes the location and gives some context where the action is being taken place. MASTER SHOT- this shows the limit of the action e.g table conversation to remind you where the scene is. OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT- Any conversation has an over the shoulder shot it is a standard way to film a conversation. SHOT REVERSE SHOT- this is when the camera is on the person who is not talking but over the shoulder of the person talking] CLOSE UP- follows the over shoulder shot, this to get to know the reaction and less where they are. EXTREME CLOSE UP- is to get a lot more detail on the characters features and emotions.To hilights any action that is very important. MEDIUM SHOT- waist upwards,better with two or three people. LONG SHOT- from legs upwards WIDE SHOT- Establish location or group of people.
