Fox searchlight pictures

Parent company- 20th centaury fox
2nd largest media conglomerate in the world.
Their assists 56 billion dollars
specialises in British films however they are an American company

Concentration of media ownership process is where progressively less organisations/ individuals control shares of mass media.

Production- being part of a conglomerate means that the money for the production is for search light. This is because they have a bigger budget therefore can get well known stars, better technology and take affective shots with special effects.

Films generally developed by smaller companies seek more finance or distributions with searchlight as they have films that have done well in the British content.

Marketing/ Distribution
FSP mainly just distribute films and in some cases have agreed to distribute a film before producing it in some cases.
When FSP market and distribute a film they have the finical backing of major conglomerate and can adapt their budget on how well the film does in the first few weeks of box office.

Advantages of Fox searchlight pictures is that they have a good distribution network and have the money to market a film very well as they as a company have a lot of money.

360 Degrees Marketing

They use online/offline tools
This saturates marketing and allows it to get to everyone
Hollywood company's can afford this however smaller individual company's cant.

They work in synergy with different company's which makes them horizontal integration
Released by parent company with a larger distribution network.

Black Swan

The worked cross media promotion for both genders and for a mass audience appeared on live TV
advertised through forms of reviews, TV reviews, magazine reviews and online reviews.

Audience 2.0
FSP have their own YouTube channel where their trailers can go viral and can be shared links to their target audience and friends.

They have their own official websites for each film/ twitter page/ Facebook page
They embrace media so that their audiences can interact
They have their own app where you can downloads cinema tickets and get free screenings
press conferences/ premiers
Work with Google in order to get recognised.

Many films FSP have done they shoot digitally
Black Swan was shot with a canon 7D dslr camera as it allowed them to get tighter into the action and get more versatile shots due to the size and weight.

Their films appear to be individual therefore feels alternative and diverse however they have probably been cut to please the studio heads

Compare FSP to smaller companies for example Warp x to get more marks.
